Latino journalist Sandra Sanchez detained for 45 minutes at Laughlin Air Force Base

Sep 20, 2021 | 0 Comentarios

On Sunday, September 19, 2021, the Border Report denounces that correspondent Sandra Sanchez was “detained for 45 minutes and threatened with arrest by military police at Laughlin Air Force Base for taking photographs of the base sign from outside the base gates.” The military Base is located in Texas, east of Del Rio, where thousands of Haitian migrants expect under the border bridge to request refuge in the U.S.

As reported by the digital site, which belongs to the Next Star Media Group, no signs outside the Base prevent journalists or any private citizen from taking photographs. Flights from the Laughlin Air Force Base are repatriating Haitians back to the devastated island.

After taking photos from outside the Base for her report, correspondent Sanchez was taken into the Base for about 45 minutes supposedly for “illegally entering federal property,” as written by the Border Report. She was only released after deleting the photos and videos taken from outside the gate. Sandra Sanchez is an American journalist of Latino descent.
